Cracking Chalk

by Brina

all those terrorists
they appear
when you least expect them
(all of them)
when you're waiting for your bagels
when you're just about to celebrate
when you’re almost there
they hang from the Dom towers
they invent new games, wear green
gardens up their sleeves
and play on traces of your imagination
with those little crumbs still untouched
by the schools, systems and institutions
until you crack up and cry on the sidewalk
and all that was sly in you turns to chalk.
