THE SUBTLE ART OF LIVING A QUEER LIFE
                                                                           by Diane

Rummaging around in
Lavish dustbins,
Looking for
Museum scraps.
     Beauty can be subtle.

Siphoning off
The possibilities,
Never mind the reasons.
     Betrayal can be subtle.

Closeted civility
Never was in fashion,
It cramped your style.
     Blindness can be subtle.

Vagabond tourist,
Chauffeured through life,
Riding the rails in exile.
     Outings can be subtle.
